Sew Easy ProjectsTablewareSimple, Elegant 20 Minute Table Runner Tutorial Anita5 years ago03 mins We love the look and feel of the Anglaise that we stock and have been looking for a simple way to use it. Here’s a tutorial that you can do when little on time! This took 20 minutes to complete. What You’ll Need Anglaise (1m)Thread (matching)Trim (24 inches)PinsScissorsRotary Cutter and MatSewing Machine First gather your materials and tools. At time of photographing this tutorial, I was undecided on which trim to use, so added both to the initial image. You’ll only need one type. Cut your fabric into 2 strips measuring to 12″ x WOF (Width of Fabric). Place them right sides together. Sew together down both long edges using a quarter inch seam allowance. Again, using a quarter inch seam allowance, sew down the two shorter sides, leaving a 4 inch gap on one of th ends for turning. Backstitch at either side of this opening to avoid the stitches coming undone as you pull the fabric out. I marked my 4 inch using two pins. Snip off all four corners, being careful not to cut through your stitches. Turn the fabric right side out and poke the corners out so they’re as sharp as you can get them. Place a finger either side of the opening and give it a little tug. The fabric should automatically want to turn in. Stitch as close to the edge as you can to sew the opening closed. Bare in mind this will be hidden by your trim anyway. Lay your trim on one end and if you feel you need to, pin it in place. Sew the trim in place. Depending on the trim, you may need to colour match your thread. The trim used in this tutorial was perfectly fine with the white thread. Cut off any excess trim. And Voila! Love how this turned out, especially given that it only took 20 minutes to make! Enjoy. Post navigation Previous: Simple Fleece Pom Pom Edged BlanketNext: GUEST POST!
