Sewing up Debbie Shore’s Gingerbread Biscuits Apron Panel

You’ll Need
The panel (obviously!)
Thread (I used M0047)
Sewing Machine
Scissors
Ruler (or seam guide)

Cut out the apron panel and straps on the cutting lines. Set the straps aside.
Fold the neck and waist straps in half along their length, right sides together as shown.
Stitch down the entire length and up one short edge.
Clip the corner.
Turn right side out using your favourite method, chop stick, point turner, hemostats etc.
Give the straps a press.
Fold in the remaining raw edge by about 1/2 and inch.
Stitch closed.
Fold all the edges of the pocket over by 1/4″, then fold again another 1/4″.
Top stitch across the TOP of the pocket.
Fold the apron edges over by 1/4″.
Then fold again by another 1/4″ and press.
Sew a 1/4″ seam around the entire main apron panel.
Pin each end of the neck strap to the top of the apron, butting up the corners.
Top stitch the strap in place. Remember to remove the pins before you sew!
Now pin the apron ties to the underarm corners of the main panel and top stitch in place. I restitched these rows of stitching several times as the ties will be tugged at so need to be secure.
Place your prepared pocket panel in the middl eof the apron (there are dashed lines to show you where it goes). Top stitch down both sides and the bottom to attach it to the apron.

That’s it! Maybe now’s the time to take the recipe printed on the apron and give it a whirl! If you’re sewing this up for someone else as a gift, maybe add it to a little basket with the ingredients to create a lovely, lovely gift!
