What You’ll Need

Inner Fabric (8×24 inches)
Outer Fabric (8×24 inches)
Heavy interfacing (8×24 inches)
25mm elastic (or whatever width you have, as long as it’s not too wide!)
Thread
Ribbon
Rotary Cutter and Mat
Scissors
Sewing Machine

First gather all the materials listed above.
Cut the fabrics to the correct measurements listed above.
Iron the interfacing to the wrong side of the outr fabric.
Cut your elastic to two lengths of 24 inches and sew them at 1.5 inches from the bottom, and 3inches from the top of the inner fabric at both ends.
Pin the elastic in the middle to keep it from slipping.
Mark out your brush spaces. As I purchased a largish set, I needed a fair few spaces! I measured mine to half an inch and just increased this to 1 inch towards the end for the wider brushes.
Sew each of your marks and then clean up by snipping off all the loose threads.
Now place your ribbon between your two layers with the ribbon laid inside between the layers.
Add the outer fabric so that both fabrics are sat together with right sides together.
Sew around the entire project, leaving about 3 inches open for turning.
Clip the corners.
Turn right side out and press flat. Careful here! My iron had a little gunk on it and it immediately marked the white fabric! Argh!
Now give the opening a little tug to pull in the fabric. Pin this if it’s easier.
Top stich the opening closed.
And that’s it… pop in your brushes, roll up and use the ribbons to tie it!
Lovely, really simple gift.
